Last night I picked up my friend Michael and his team from the airport for Sundance.  Its fun to see people new to Utah's reaction on our beautiful mountains! Anyway tonight he makes an appearance in the premiere of “Kourtney & Kim Take New York” Im still trying to get him to introduce me to Kim :) But I do get to take his head shots this week so that will be fun!

Monday Im going to a premier at Sundance. A Jillie Willie apron is making it big time and appearing in the movie. Im excited to see and can't wait for the movie to come out! 

Now. . . . can anyone imagine me and my family at the after party at Harryo's?! LOL. Me and my mom can shake it ;)

I get to work with Darin on studio 5. Now if you watch the show you know what a fun, goofball he is :) Lets just say his family is a great reflection of those fun same qualities. I laughed the whole shoot! It did not feel like work at all!

I Love to see. . .

 I have had several requests about buying this print of the beautiful Salt Lake City temple. It's really been humbling, so thank you! This photo was taken for KSL's new show Mormon Times which airs on Sunday mornings at 10:00. I tried so many angles and I wasn't dying over any of the shots. At then end it all fell into place, and was such a neat experience. The sun started shining though and it felt much more magical, just as it should be. So Im making this print available for purchase.  I will print it on a beautiful metallic

 paper and send out!

Mormon Times

Remember this post? I get to tell you now :) I got a call from the producer of this new show asking me to photograph the logo and images for the segments. I was totally excited for the opportuinity. I love the change of pace doing comerical shots. I just got the finished product emailed back to me and I am so happy with how it all came together! In the opening of the show, the logo is animated, the globe turnes, and it even has twinkles:) Here is a litlle info about the show:

Mormon Times is a new show that features well-known LDS authors, artists and musicians to everyday members, Mormon Times shares the inspiring stories and testimonies of those living the LDS faith.  Mormon Times on KSL is a companion to the weekly print edition of Mormon Times, published by the Deseret News.  Join KSL’s Kathy Aiken each Sunday at 10:00am following “Music and the Spoken Word”.

I'll be sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see the live open. The kick off show airs Sunday at 1:30 right before conference. Watch with me!

Yaay Its finally my turn for photos. Is it ok to say I Love them?!

The thing is I had a vision in my head and knew it wouldn't come out exactly how I imagined
(because of crazy kids you can't make freeze) But It did! Just like in my head.

I have this friend Chelsea (remember HERE, HERE and HERE, thanks to her those ideas in my head came to life perfectly.

She has a great eye and knows me so, so well!

I stayed up all night editing them not giving her a chance to show me all the edited ones first :)

as soon as she posts her edits I'll send you over.

Decorating with Photography

Using photos in the decor of your home makes for a homey, warm, inviting, feel and adds a great personal touch. With photography being so popular there are great new options for printing your photos. What's new in photo printing, you ask? These are some of my favorite products and current best sellers:
Metallic Prints
Metallic prints have a glossy finish, with a metallic look. It creates images with exceptional visual interest and depth that will appeal to both photographers and display designers seeking a unique look. And it delivers rich, vibrant colors and flattering flesh tones for consumers.
Gallery Wraps
Gallery wraps are images printed larger than the final print size so that it can be wrapped around the wooden frame. A photo printed on real canvas has an artistic texture giving it an impressive, rich quality you simply cannot get on paper.

Here are a few other fun ways to display those personal memories:
Memory Walls

Memory walls are such a popular trend right now in home decor. Weather you choose to create a unified look or an eclectic look, creating a memory wall in your home gives it an instant gallery quality look and makes a great classy statement in any space. Here are some key points to keep in mind when creating your memory wall.

Gaita interiots

• Always hang pictures at eye level. More

 often than not people are hanging too high and far apart.
• Give a space of about 1.5 to  3 inches in between photos
• Hanging 2 or 3 larger photo elements will balance out the smaller photos
• When pictures are hung in a horizontal line, it tends to make the wall look larger. This pattern works best in smaller areas and family rooms.

Pottery Barn

• For a formal look, hang the pictures in a vertical line. This will create the illusion of height.
• Mixing wood-framed pictures with metal-framed pictures works best in an eclectic home. For a more formal look, try to keep the same color for all the frames or mats
• Artwork should not be wider than the piece of furniture below it
• Pay attention to the "balance" in your entire room. Be careful not to put everything in one part of a room. Leaving the other walls bare will throw the balance of the entire room off.
• You don't always need to go for the formal unified memory wall. Create interest by hanging photos in unique shapes or make a collage with all frames touching.

• Before you hang the photos, cut out paper to the same size of each photo. Then tape the paper to the wall. This gives you freedom to create your memory just how you like it without creating holes all over the wall. Make sure to use painters tape so you don't peal the paint off when you remove the tape. Nail the hooks into place according to your markings on the paper. Finally remove the paper and hang your pictures.

It's so important to get those photos off your computer and into your home to show off those cute family members. Here are some fun photo craft projects to show off those pictures:
Photo Wreath
Growing up, my mom always had a new photo wreath out for every holiday and season. It was so fun for us and our guests to look back on all our great memories. Simply print your favorite photos from that particular season and tie them with fun ribbon all over your wreath.
Place Mats
Print a large favorite photo of each family member (I chose ones that included eating) and laminate. This creates a happy environment at the dinner table and makes each kid feel special.
Decorative Tray
Buy a large photo frame and fill with any collage of photos/letters you choose. Screw in handles on each side to create a great serving tray.

My Top Ten Color Wall's

These are hidden shots of color - tucked behind alleys, up narrow side streets, even inside tunnels. When scouting out a good location, a photographer's eye is naturally drawn toward color. But I also like to look for interest - texture and even pattern. When you find a good wall, work it - with different angles, different wardrobe options, different lighting. Here are a few of my favorite "Utah color wall" locations.

Colorful Striped Wall 

650 N. Main Street, Logan 

You will find this amazing wall tucked away behind the Papa Murphy's on Main Street. It speaks loud volumes with its bold primary colors with a subtle hint of vintage coloring. Now this is something you could design a room around!

Bright Red Patterned Wall 

Taqueria La Costa Burrito, 4700 West 5800 North, Tremonton 

I don't only love this wall because of its vibrant red color, but you just can't find a pattern wall everywhere. A black outfit will steal the show here!

Bear River City 

This charming building is perfect for a great vintage look. The front offers strong pillars and an old fashion sign, then head on over to the side for some bright colorful brick.

Bright, Royal Blue Wall 

Napa Auto Parts, 498 South Main Street, Brigham City 

Bold? Yes, please! This deep tone will richen up any photo. I love to pair it with a great pink or yellow. This wall is perfect for boys and girls.

Gray Wall 

Historic 25th Street, Ogden 

Looking for something more natural or modern? Go with this sleek Gray. Its color flatters all skin tons and it has just the right amount of texture for a little flair. When you're done here go ahead, keep walking because you will find all sorts of hidden photography treasures here.

Bright Pink Wall 

Jose Burritos, 2583 North Main Street, Clearfield 

Think Pink! This unexpected spot is just perfect for a photo with sass. The best news is all sides of this building are painted so go any time of day!

White Textured Wall 

100 South Main Street, Bountiful 

Soft and serene this wall gives you a crisp clean look while still having that sought after texture in the circles

Olive Green 

160 South 5th West, Salt Lake City 

Right behind the gateway is where this beauty is hidden. It offers several different tones of green from sage to olive you will be happy with this choice. Don't forget to use the great levels and garage doors for some sitting options.

Bright Orange Wall with Blue Trim 

Just off the 1-15 Exit, West Side Frontage Road, Lehi (can see it from the freeway) 

This wall makes me happy with the perfect tone or orange mixed with the soft blue. Don't stress the wardrobe, everyone will just be checking out the wall!

Tunnel 

Entrada Golf Couse, 2537 Entrada Trail, St. George 

St. George offers us such a beautiful landscape. Go over to the golf course snap some killer photos in the light shining tunnel and don't forget to hop on the black and red rock for another great photo.

Sledding in April.

Something I have been trying to do daily on my family blog is to document a moment everyday. I sometimes get overwhelmed thinking of blogging a big and great post, and this has made it so much easier. Just one picture and one sentence. It can be more but doesn't need to. So far It has been great and has helped me out a lot in my journaling. I thought I would share a moment of our day with you :)
